He is the founder and Managing Director of the consulting firm - North River Solutions, Inc. His industry experience includes financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation/shipping, engineering/software development, and wholesale distributors. Michael J. Fagel, Ph.D., CEM

Michael Fagel, Ph.D., CEM, has had a remarkable career in emergency management—a career that has spanned more than 32 years and has taken him from serving as a volunteer with the Aurora Illinois Civil Defense Agency during the Cold War to ground zero following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Between then and now, Dr. Fagel has served in various capacities within the American Red Cross, the Aurora Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA),various federal agencies and with Department of Defense contractors. He also has more than 25 years experience as an instructor at numerous colleges and universities.

With an MBCP, MBA & BS in Chemical Engineering, Barry Gorelick brings 21 years of business resiliency planning, business continuity and disaster recovery experience in IT, financial services, and business in his position as Vice President of Ameriprise Financial, Inc.'s Corporate Preparedness / Business Continuity Management Group. Barry has served as a consultant, subject matter expert, and leader in the business resiliency planning component for quite a number of Fortune 50 companies. Barry has also developed and conducted resiliency training including; nationwide seminars, white papers, and journal articles.
