Data Center Equipment Engineer
Installing equipment in a data center entails much more than what most engineers might think. The traditional way of finding the first available rack with space and then “plugging” in the equipment and turning it on could lead to risky scenarios and even costly down time.
Especially in today’s environment, special care needs to be given to feed and phase balancing of the electrical system, cooling and airflow, floor loading capabilities, EMF, rack location and equipment location within the rack and many more factors.
This one-day course will provide anybody involved with installing ICT (Information and Communication Technology) equipment in the data center valuable lessons on how to effectively install equipment without causing potential short term and long term negative effect which might impact equipment reliability and ultimately business downtime.

Writing the Incident Response Plan
The most important asset in any organization is its people. Every organization should have plans and procedures in place to protect its people. In addition to preserving lives, the organization also needs to minimize exposure to loss of property and to civil or criminal liability in the event of an incident. An Incident Response Plan also facilitates compliance with regulatory requirements and should have a clear understanding of the Incident Command System.
This workshop will begin by providing you with an understanding of the different types of plans each organization should have in place in order to be resilient. It will then focus on specifically on developing an Incident Response Plan and on how to integrate business continuity procedures with incident response procedures. In addition, the course will review the Incident Command System and provide you with the latest information on public/private partnerships.

Managing Risk and Resilience in the Supply Chain
Resilience of the supply chain needs so much more that a traditional ‘business recovery plan’ and the special demands for resilience need to be built into the very strategy of the outsourcing process. It is not enough just to have a recovery plan; it is even more important that the organisation has recognised the human, intellectual and work tool dependencies that have been handed over. Continuity planning now needs to understand many new reasons for supply failure, whether it sudden or gradual, local or international, in quality or quantity. Our 2-day workshop will guide you through the intricacies of these areas.
